Mardi Gras Mani Madness!!!

Ooh, I almost missed any part of celebrating Mardi Gras!  Well, if I insist on a few more days of celebration, Universal Studios carries the theme til April 23.

This is one of those designs I have swirling around in my brain looking for a way to manifest.  Here’s what I used as my inspiration…

This is a pin I got when I was working in Louisiana, one year, during Mardi Gras.  I didn’t GO to Mardi Gras but I was around New Orleans while it was being celebrated.  In many of my travels, I will purchase a piece of jewelry to remember the event or the place.  I have had this pin for about 10 years and still wear it during Mardi Gras.

The color scheme is yellow, green and purple.  And I added in OPI’s Black Shatter to the look…

Here’s Cosmetic Arts’ creme yellow, BB Couture’s ‘Caterpillar’, Cosmetic Art’s creme purple and the OPI Black Shatter.

Send them to a party and this is what they come up with…

Mardi Gras Mani Madness!!!

I painted on the colors in a diagonal stripe alternating directions on each finger.  After drying, I put on a layer of Shatter.  I liked it so much, I had to run over to my hubs and show it off.  I got the gratuitous ‘oh, ah, yes!’ from him.

Well, I think it’s cute! I just wish I would have thought of it last night instead of tonight.  I’m still going to wear it tomorrow.  No one handed me a rule book!

Last weekend was the 70th anniversary of the Daytona Bike Week.  My hubs and I went as he had never been before.  And we had a blast.  Here’s the thumb ring I got to commemorate the event…

Lie Down a Blanket and Enjoy Sex on the Beach

Once, I mused with co-workers that I thought sex on the beach would be so romantic.  One of the guys commented ‘No, it’s not.  You get sand everywhere and it’s really uncomfortable.’
*crickets*

Here’s some Sex on the Beach that I can, uhm, comfortably enjoy…

Holy sandbox!  If you have never tried BB Couture, stop reading blogs and go to  Overallbeauty.com and order some RIGHT NOW!  Seriously.  You will NOT regret it.

Sex on the Beach is an orange-red with the most fab gold and orange micro-glitter.  Personally, I have never seen any color like this.  I have 2 coats applied.  Since BB Couture is a base coat, color and top coat in one, it saves you gobs of time.  And the application, better than sex (on the beach!).  Truly glides on smooth, no grit.  The brush isn’t skimpy or too thin.  I think the shape of this bottle is very chic. Sex on the Beach wears so well that I didn’t get any lift or chips after 5 days.  I love this color so much I hated taking it off.

High shine?  You bet!  And if you don’t get some BB Couture, you’ll regret laying in the sand.  You don’t want to get uncomfortable, do you?

BB Couture’s Sex on the Beach was sent to me for review and my honest opinion.

Capturing A Caterpillar

I have been very eager to show off this nail polish that I have been rockin’ all weekend.

This is Caterpillar by BB Couture.  This is my first BBC and I have been wanting to try this brand since reading reviews about it all over nail blog world.  Seeing that this Caterpillar is from the Butterfly Collection, it is a very appropriate place to start.

This photo gives you an idea of the gold glimmer suspended in this yummy, creamy green.  When I first saw this polish, it made me think of green on an aloe vera plant.  And when I caught a glimpse of that gold glimmer, I made haste to take off the NOTD I had on and replace it with this Caterpillar!

I was expecting good things from this premium  polish.  And it did NOT disappoint!  This polish was almost perfect with one coat, two coats WAS perfect and no top coat necessary.  In fact, I put a Seche Clear on the middle finger and, though you can’t quite see it here, I felt that the Seche actually dulled the supreme shine this polish presents all by itself!  It does say it is a ‘4-In-1 Formula’ and it holds true to that proclamation.

The bottle is easy to hold while using.  The bristles are long, hold together and are flexible.  The top is large enough to easily apply the polish.

It’s been 2 days since I put this polish on and there is nothing but love for this little bug.  It wears like nobody’s business.  That shine is still there after several household chores.

This color and brand are everything I had hoped it would be.  To capture it in one word: quality.  So, this is my first BB Couture; by no means my last.

This product was supplied to me by Kim Snyder at Overallbeauty.com  for my honest opinion and review.
