Kleancolor: Multi-Tasking Stick

Like the multi-functioning black jacket, I can’t resist multi-use makeup. Kleancolor makeup has a Multi-Use Stick collection and I picked one up…

This one is called ‘Poppy’. It is a glittery, brick shade in the tube…

I like the packaging because I get a better sense of the shade color as well as how much is left once I start using it. However, as you read on, you’ll see how I was deceived, somewhat, on the color…

I have started experimenting using a creme blush before I put on mineral foundation. It just seems more logical to do it in that order rather than the other way around. But, I’m working on laying a foundation of color on my cheeks to see if it adds anything to the look.

Some cremes are better than others. I picked ‘Poppy’ because I don’t have any cremes quite this color. It seems I have a lot of pinks, as they work better with my skin tone. But, I thought ‘Poppy” would be a nice difference for a creme shadow and lipstick as well.

This swatch illustrates how ‘Poppy’ looks with my skin color…

Interesting that once is it on me, it looks more peachy in color. Still, it is a pretty color.

What I discovered is that Kleancolor’s Multi-Stick works best for me just as a creme blush. As a shadow, it creased and I wasn’t surprised. Not only am I having issues with shadows creasing on me, this product is super creamy, and it creased in no time. Even as a lipstick, it was just too creamy for any staying power. It did OK as a lipstick only when I used it with a lip primer. And then, that only gave it a couple more hours of hanging around. I think the reason this product worked on my cheeks is because I have normal to dry skin on the apples of my cheeks.

Kleancolor has a total of 12 shades to the Multi-Stick collection. You can see them all on their website. I got mine at Red Lips Cosmetics store, here in Orlando. At $2.99, it’s a rather small investment.

Milani: Illuminating Face Powder Or: Embossed Pressed Powder Porn

What if one of my favorite cosmetic lines made a pressed powder with embossed roses on it? Well, I’d swoon. Then I’d fawn. Then I’d take a billion photos of it to save for my own makeup porn collection…

Milani doesn’t just make awesome makeup, I’m calling these art!

From the top: Hermosa Rose; Beauty’s Touch; Amber Nectar. All Illuminating Face Powder.

These compacts are a blush, a bronzer and a highlighter, all in one. It can give you a hint of color or, built it up slowly.

Now, I’ll just leave you to be with awesomeness…

I couldn’t use these until I photo’d them. That’s quite obsessive but it makes me happy. These are sheer enough for me to use all three ways too. Here are some swatches…

Very subtle. Very lovely. Milani wins my heart again with a beautiful product that delivers as promised.

Have you tried these out?

Dollar Tree Haul; Hold The Christmas!

Dollar Tree stores, in Orlando, have been rather barren of any good, or rather, new makeup stuff. Just on a whim, I stopped into a new, larger one in hopes that they had some surprises.

Here was my first surprise…

Seriously? I haven’t even finished my Halloween shopping and it’s still 6 weeks away. Have you noticed that retailers just sweep aside Thanksgiving and move you RIGHT into the Holidays…two words: BLACK FRIDAY!!!

Gosh, I sure do NOT need any more shadows, wait…I should just say makeup!!! I’m only fooling myself.
But I really like collections and pallettes with three or more shades. Three is my tipping point. LOL Don’t laugh. Everyone has a tipping point. Let me know what yours is in the comments below.

L.A. Colors…enough said…

 Tiki Punch
 Southern Belle
 Sand Dune
Boardwalk

If these shadows are as nice as previous LA Colors, I’m expecting good pigmentation. I’ll get some swatches worked up for you later.

I held off on these palettes…

I truly held myself back on ELF stuff. I don’t think I’ve seen that much in a Dollar Tree before. Here are just a couple that I couldn’t pass up…

Blushing
Gunmetal

And I swathed here for you…

You can sort of see the glitter in the ELF blush. I don’t know if I love it lots, but I’ll try it. Seriously, I didn’t see the glitter in it when I picked it up. But, that  puny container totally stumped me. I worked and worked to get it open. Here’s the best I could do…

I have no idea how in the hell to open this blush!!! I’ve torn it up and it still hasn’t popped open.

What do you see that you like? And don’t say the Christmas stuff!!!!!!

Laura Geller’s Blush-N-Brighten in the Birchbox

Have you heard about Birchbox? It’s a website where you can sign up to get a monthly box of beauty products. It is $10 a month and a much anticipated event, each month, in nail/beauty bloggerland.

Most of the items are sample size, but at least one item is full size. And you get opportunities to purchase the full size items from their website as well. I have been getting my Birchbox for the past 3 months and I do enjoy the excitement of seeing what I’ll get each month.

This is a blush that came in my box, this month…

From Laura Geller Makeup, this is her Blush-N-Brighten in ‘Apricot Berry’.

Just look at this swirly goodness…

Looks like a photo of Mars or Saturn, doesn’t it? These blend of baked colors is a trademark of Laura Geller’s. I’m a fan of hers after discovering her about 8 years ago on QVC.

One of her premier items is Balance-N-Brighten…

I can use this as a foundation, blush, eye shadow, contour and probably more. There’s just enough warmth, brightener and color to brush over my entire face and look luminous. Check out the top that is half mirror. Good idea!

One of Laura Geller’s products that I can NOT rave enough about is her Lip Spackle…

This lip primer is bad ass!!! Best primer for the kisser EVER!!!

But, this post is about my new Blush-N-Brighten. This blush blends on so smoothly that there is no fallout. It looks dark in the pot however, with a subtle hand, it puts just the right amount of glow on my cheeks.

Looks very good on my skin that has just a tad of a tan. I have been using SPF 45 while out walking/running in the mornings, but I still get a little bit of color. So, ‘Apricot Berry’ works for me.
Blush-N-Brighten costs $29. You can purchase it from Birchbox or from QVC.
