In A Trance from Cult Nails’ Hypnotic Collection

If you pre-ordered your Cult Nail polishes, you are apt to get them very soon! And if you haven’t ordered, you better join the Cult Nails cult. 🙂

The swatch I’m going to show you is one of my very favorite new polish colors to LOVE…

‘In A Trance’ is one of four new, Fall colors in the Cult Nails Hypnotic collection.

It’s a drab olive green with lots and lots of gold shimmer/glitter going on. And why is it a ‘drap’ green? There is NOT one thing drab about ‘In A Trance.’ Talk about being ‘In A Trance,’ this is a stunner. It was interesting that others who saw my nails would notice then, come back for a second, deeper look.

I did not have to take a bazillion photos to capture that gold flicker deep in this olive polish. Inside, outside, sunlight, with a flashlight under my covers, that gold is there.

Maria, the owner of Cult Nails, pours her heart and soul into her polishes. There is not a detail missed. Her goal of creating unique shades that are spot on in trends, is not an easy goal. Yet, she has done it, AGAIN, with the newest Fall collection, ‘Hypnotic.’

You can put yourself into your own Trance, for $10, or get the whole Fall ‘Hypnotic‘ collection, set of four for $40.

You will be seeing my swatches of all these very soon. In the meantime….you are getting sleeeeeepyyyyyy…..

Autumn’s Allure And A High School Boyfriend

It is still wickedly hot here in Central Florida.  Not one iota of a glimpse that Fall is on its way.  This used to be the time of year when we would head back to school.  Even though I wasn’t happy about going back, I did love getting finished in May.

Fall is full of wistful memories of going to high school football games.  My boyfriend played on the team our senior year.  I still remember seeing him on the field.  And even though we were not dating anymore, I felt a sense of pride and delight seeing my sweet boyfriend suited up.

Even back then I was drawn to autumn and fall colors.  This polish would definitely have won me over…

This is Finger Paints “Autumn Allure”, from their 2010 fall collection.

When I saw “Autumn Allure” from this collection at Sally’s, I wasn’t as smitten with it as I thought I would be.  In fact, I almost bought all of them but this one.  Then the OCD in me felt I had to have the complete selection.  I gave Autumn Allure a chance, unlike I did for my high school sweetie.

The sunny window sheds some light on the subject but, it sort of washes it out.  This is quite dark in the bottle and that didn’t seem to translate onto the nail.  In the bottle it’s a dusty, way dark mauve that has a silver shimmer to it.  On nails, it’s just a medium tone mauve.  Maybe like a light raisin color.

That poor damaged ring finger.  It is, though, coming around now.  This photo taken outdoors, is quite true to how it presented in real life.  It has a bit of spice to it, so it has some personality.

And besides having some rough cuticles, I ended up liking Autumn Allure quite a bit.  It did need two coats and I have Seche on top.  If you have ever tried Finger Paints, this one applies well and is the standard quality of Finger Paints.

And with that, I am happy I got this color.  It ended up being one I liked quite well.  I’m glad I gave it a chance.  And, that’s quite unlike what I did for my high school boyfriend.  He was a sweet boyfriend, I just didn’t know how to be a sweet girlfriend.  Hmmmm…wistful memories from Autumn’s past.

Have you seen these new fall Finger Paints?  Would you give a polish a second chance?  Ever find a polish, hesitate to get it, got it and glad you did?  Do you miss the days of high school football and sweet boyfriends?

Falling for Fall’s Gold

To me, it seems way too early to start wearing fall fashions.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE fall!  But when it’s 109 degrees here in Orlando, FL, I’m having difficulty conjuring up thoughts of pumpkins and light sweaters.

However, this still did NOT stop me from buying a fall collection(s) of nail polish.

I picked this up about 2 weeks ago at Icing…

(Gushing!) I snapped this one up in a hurry.  Since nail blogging, I’ve learned to ‘strike while the iron is hot!’  And that’s what this collection is: HOT!  A 5 mini bottle fall collection that is as sweet as a caramelized pear!

From left to right; a shimmery gold, a creamy apple green, creamy burnt orangy-red, a smoky plum cream, and finally creamy sienna polish.

Libby said she’d model the gold polish for me.  But she tired pretty quick.  I did get a really cool photo from her.  Yes, her coat is really that soft!

This collection didn’t name their beauties.  So, it’s a good thing I like to make up names for them.

This is Fall’s Gold…

This last photo is a very true to life show of the color.  I’m more of a shimmery, glimmery, shiny girl.  That’s why I picked this one first.  It’s a gold that shimmers gold.

It was fun wearing this one for a few days.  I did get a chunk off one nail after 3 days.  Other than that, the wear was decent.  I did a BC, 1 Seche Clear, 2 colors, 1 Seche Clear and Seche Vite to finish.

Does this Fall’s Gold look like fall?  And, what do you think of this special edition from Icing?  I like the gold best, without trying the others yet, but which one do you like?
And, are you ready for fall?  Man, I am…but then only a few of you may be at my age where cooler weather is a godsend!!! ;p
