Three Polish Brands; One Big Holiday Polish Haul

These are my recent nail polish hauls. And it’s a haulage!!

I got these at Sally’s. I wanted to get ‘Ingenue’ as well, but it was gone!

These two polishes are from Orly’s Holiday Soiree collection. On the left, the gawdawesome ‘Androgynie’. The one on the right, that’s ‘Oui’.

Go ahead and take a closer look…

‘Androgynie’…the final frontier. The baby lacey nail file is cute but utterly useles.

‘Oui’ to a gold and silvery-purple duochrome.

Lovely shades. Nothing terribly new, but these are the shades of polish I like. You can see some ‘hot damn’ swatches of this collection at I Drink Nail Polish’s blog.

I was at the right place at the right time to get this collection from China Glaze…

This China Glaze collection is from the one called Eye Candy 3-D. I don’t know what the 3-D part is because these polishes have no more or less depth to them than any other glitters. But, maybe I missed getting the free 3-D glasses that should have come with these.  I did get in on the sale at Ulta though. I bought 2 and got 1 free. At first, I was only going to get 5 but since that sixth one was free, I got them all.

The first one above is called ‘Lorelei’s Tiara.’ That’s the one that has silver glitter and then some teal glitter swirling around within. That is one of the more unique looks.

Next to that is ‘Marry A Millionaire’. Great saying that goes with a medium purple glitter with holo bar glitter. Another rather new look to me.

And then the last one in this line up is a gold glitter; ‘Blonde Bombshell.’ This is the one I wasn’t going to get at first. It’s a gold glitter but has these larger sizes of gold glitter as well. I feel I have to get my nose right down into it to see the differences in the sizes, however.

Next set…

From left over to right; ‘Material Girl’; ‘Some Like it Haute (named after one of my favorite movies); and then ‘Love Marilyn.’

‘Material Girl’ is a dusty pink glitter with larger sized pink holo glitter.

Next is ‘Some Like It Haute.’ This one is another favorite. It’s a dark, slate gray and has holo glitter suspended in it. Last is ‘Love Marilyn’ and this is a gorgeous red glitter sprinkled with silver glitter.

There’s ‘Androgenie’ next to ‘Some Like It Haute’…

I know they are not the same and the only similarities can be they are both dark and have holo glitter. However, when you put them side by side, they actually bring out the unique flavor of each other.

Blurred for shimmer, you can see both are full of holographic glitter. ‘Androgynie’ has the larger hex shaped pieces.

And lastly, I found the Nicole By OPI’s Holiday Glitter collection. I picked up just two…

On the left, ‘Orna-ment For Each Other’. Now that’s a Santa suit red! It’s got speckles of gold glitter within a sea of red glitter. Ho Ho Ho!

And on the right, that’s ‘Glitter In My Stocking.’ It’s a bright gold glitter that has red and copper glitter thrown in for some major holiday awe-ness.

They look like glitter tree ornaments, don’t they?

There were a total of 4 shades to this collection. One was a fuchsia glitter (‘My Sleigh Is In The Shop) and the other was a bright blue with a rainbow assortment of colored micro-glitter called  ‘Snowman of My Dreams.’ I hemmed and hawed over that one and I think I’ve convinced myself that I will have to go back and get it.

I better get busy and Holiday Swatch! Do you have any of these or, are there some here that you know you’ll get?

Profusion Cosmetics Holiday Gift Sets at Walgreens

Yesterday, I teased about some upcoming makeup at Walgreens. I would have purchased more but I am trying to refrain from having the largest makeup palette collection in North America.

Here are some of the goodies I saw…

Before there is room on the ‘regular’ shelves, Walgreens will house products on the upper levels of the shelves. This is where I have been looking for Wet ‘n Wild’s On The Prowl display. However, I think that now it is Halloween season, they would be at eye-level.

Profusion Cosmetics looks like the first company to get their stuff to Walgreens. This is a makeup bag of 5 vibrate colors of lip gloss. Since the plastic reflects the light, I can’t show the shimmer that are in each of these. And, I seem to be having another love affair with lip glosses, so I’m sure I’ll end up, at some point, with this set. Price point: $4.99

Here are the ones that I could NOT pass up…

At 99 cents, how easy is that?! I’m going to do a swatch post for you very soon, however, here is what they look like…

No names, just numbers. I almost didn’t get the green set. But let me say, I’m glad I didn’t pass it up! Just wait for the swatching!!

Palettes galore!!!

Three different bling palettes have a collection of a dozen colors all together. Probably some dupes but it is virgin makeup porn and I like it!!!!! And did you notice that the display says that the cover is a reusable card holder? I’ll have to see if my pink blingy card holder is the same as this one.
Price point: $4.99

Look forward to my swatches of these…

I wore a combination from all three palettes today. Some of the shades are more pigmented than others but I liked what I created. There a could of shades that I’m happy to have.

Does anyone like Profusion Cosmetics?

Fourth of July Manicures Or: Why I Should Just Go Play With Sparklers

My freaky fourth Frenches were a fat failure! I didn’t even bother to photo them.

I thought I’d try some flaky blue and red but, they didn’t turn out as cute as I wanted. It didn’t give off that July 4th feeling…

I didn’t even bother to clean this up, I hated it so much. Why was this polish so gloopy? I did it over Color Club matte white and well, it just mucked up. It didn’t last but 2 more seconds after this photo.

Then I tried to do some fun dots…

I think these turned out the best. However, it looks more like Wonder Bread than a Fourth of July holiday mani. Just add some yellow dots…

Then I got the not-so-good idea to whip out some stamping. Again, in theory, it would have been nice…

A couple of these are OK but I wasn’t impressed enough to keep them on.

Luckily, the fireworks are in the night sky and no one can see my nails anyway…

Oh, one thing funny did happen yesterday. Hubs and I were in the grocery store and the store music was a John Philip Sousa band song. I began to sing along and Hubs did a double-take on me and promptly walked away. I guess I’m more patriotic than him.

Independence Day Nail Art

In just a bit over 26 hours, the 3 Prize Giveaway will close. If you haven’t entered, please do by clicking here.

Hooray and Happy Birthday, United States!!! How are you going to spend the US’s 235th birthday?

I’m going to show you my July 4th manicure with 10 different looks. I couldn’t land on just one so I went crazy. I made some winners and losers. However, it was a lot of fun to do these.

First, let me show you the polishes I used…

Here are the ‘stars’…Nubar’s ‘Hologram Glitter’ and Kleancolor’s ‘Silver Star.’

Avon’s ‘Rich Red’ (which is a blood red, not an orange-red) and Color Club’s Frosty Blue that has no name. Even with the vast array of polishes that I own, I didn’t have one medium blue creme polish. So, the blue here is frosty.

OPI’s ‘Red Shatter’, Sally Hansen’s ‘Distressed Denim’, and China Glaze’s ‘Lightning Bolt.’

Here, I have a Color Club white creme and one from Sally Hansen. I tried both to see which I preferred. Color Club won as it wasn’t as streaky as SH. Plus, that SH is years old.

Mix them all up…

I won’t go through and tell you about each design. I’ll let the photos do the talking.

And, this is my right hand…

I did use an irridescent glitter from Color Club on some of these nails. I just didn’t get a photo of it separately.

I think my favorite one is my left-hand pinky. I feel very patriotic, seriously.

Did you do an Independence Day manicure?
