Sinful Colors Puts In A Little Secret With Pandora

Tomorrow starts another decade for me. Whoop-de-do. But, the good news is that you and four others can win some nifty prizes. Jump over here and enter.

Gosh, I haven’t even swatched all of Sinful Color’s Cast Away collection and they have a new one out. I went hunting today but didn’t find it. However, if you want to see what I’m talking about, check out Polish Fixation’s blog.

And there is a new China Glaze duochrome collection coming out soon too! Eeps! I need to get through my Hunger Games collection!

Quick, take a look at this fab one from Sinful Colors…

Aptly named ‘Pandora’. That is exactly what I opened up when I decided to become a beauty blogger. However, at the bottom of my Pandora box was a group of friends I never would have met if it hadn’t been for blogging. Thank you!!!

If you don’t know the story of Pandora, you should read it. It is one of my favorites from Greek mythology. And if you ever hear someone make the statement, ‘You’ve opened Pandora’s Box’, then you’ll learn what that means. (Not to mention that is one of the top best reasons for the Internet and radio.)

This shade is amazing…

I’ll say it is a softened, pastel orange. I don’t have a top coat on over the 3 coats of ‘Pandora’ so it isn’t super shiny on its own. But I totally OWN this color. It doesn’t make me have lobster fingers at all (accentuating the red tones in my skin). And I think I know the secret…

‘Pandora’ isn’t a creme. If you look super close, you will see shimmers of magenta in it. In the last photo, with totally blown-out lighting, I almost fake the look of a magenta shimmer in the reflections. ‘Pandora’ is very, very sneaky.

And, I like this shade soooo much. Why are all these new shades so incredibly gorgeous that I want to wear them for a long time!?? Do you think you’ll like this one too?

It’s so sweet and kind when people ask me how Kayla is doing. She is doing splendidly. She loves her new home and family. As much as she wants to play with Libby and Sebastian, they are still not quite sure about it. However, they do play chase back and forth down the hall. And knowing that Kayla is finally able to run and sit in the sun and be loved every day and any moment she wants it, shows me just a little bit of good in the world that I made for her. I must say that Kayla loves her Mommy. And I am totally in love with her too.

Just ‘Tronica’ Take It Away From Me

This post isn’t meant to be a tease.  I just need to get my nails done.

One of the long-term projects I have been working on with an international shoe company, has a launch this week and I’m doing a lot of promos for them.  I love new releases and the product is a huge hit.  So, I’m not going to get to the nail salon til this weekend.

However, I wanted to show you this new polish…

From China Glaze’s Tronica collection, this is ‘Electra Magenta.’  A magenta base with tons and tons of glitter.  A holographic polish lover’s dream!  (That would be me!)

As pretty as I believe it is, it was a pistol to apply.  It wanted to dry quickly so there was no going back over a stroke; it got gloppy.  But once I figured that out and adjusted for that….SWOON!  I polished my nails late in the evening so there wasn’t any sunlight, to speak of, to check out the color.  But I was running from room to room in my house gaga-ing it in different light.

On my way home from work, I snapped a photo whilst in my car (only at a very long stop light!).  I have only 1 coat of Seche Vite over 2 coats of ‘Electra Magenta.’

Once I got home, I got busy getting a few photos in…

This color looks like it has ‘texture’ to it.  Reminds me of OPI’s Designer Series colors.  Put me in the group that has fallen in love with the Tronica collection!

Did you get any polishes from the Tronica collection?  Do you think magenta is a purple or a pink?

A Rose By Any Other Name

Growing up, I could rarely use nail polish.  Mostly because my father is highly sensitive to odors.  So nail polish, nail polish remover, incense (hey, it was the 70’s!), and perfumes where out of the question.  When I could, on rare occasions, apply polish, it was done outdoors, hours before my father got home from work.

I’m soooo lucky I didn’t inherit THAT trait!  Not that I love the smell of polish, but I just plain like to polish my nails!

And I love, love, LOVE deep, rich colors.  Check out this cutie I got from Forever 21…

Hooray!!  The camera DID pickup on the gold duochrome in this sassy magenta.  But why do they name this lamely ‘Rose’?  At least spice it up like ‘Gilding Rose.’  Forever 21 calls their makeup like ‘Love and Beauty’ which is much more appealing.

Yea, it is sassy on my toesies.  See the brown patches on my feet.  That’s my attempt with self-tanners.  I try to embrace my paleness.  But, well, remember I can’t leave well enough alone?

This is a mini bottle.  It has a rubber-grip top.  That is a nice quality.  With a squared bottle, I like the way it fits in my hand.  The brush is long and thin but nothing weird or terrible about it.  The consistency of the polish is very nice.  It’s not watery, nor is it gloppy thick.  Goldilocks approves it as juuusst right!

I admit I am so smitten by the color, I took more photos of the bottle!    But I am so fascinated with the gold veins in this polish.  Uber love-sauce!

And the kicker, for me, it only cost $2.80!  One last note on the polish; even though the gold shimmer came through digitally, the color of the magenta is a little bit darker in real life.

With this winning cutie, I will say that it has the sweet smell of success.

What’s your favorite smell?  Baking bread?  Babies’ necks?  Newly mowed grass?  Those are a few of mine.
