Target’s Beauty Bag: Coupons and Samples

Last week I got my Target Beauty Bag. I didn’t even know if my request had gone through when I applied online so, I was super thrilled when this came in the mail…

And the answer is “YES”; a grown woman will squeal in delight over a cute, little bag and some sweet samples…

And heck ya, I need coupons to go with it! I dig the stuff Target has in their beauty bags. And, back to the little bag…OMG! OMG! OMG!….

If Libby (my ragdoll cat and mascot of this blog) had gone to college, these would have been her varsity colors!!

Let’s take a peek inside, right after I drool some more over this BAG!!!!…

Loreal’s Magic Lumi Light Infusing primer (I used it already and will review it on a Sample Sunday post); Nivea Extended Moisture body lotion (smells good!); Neutrogena’s Fresh Foaming Cleanser; Pantene’s Fine Hair Conditioner; Simple’s Cleansing Facial Wipes.

Stand out from this group is Simple’s Cleansing Facial Wipes. I read a couple of beauty blogs were the writers felt they were cheating using facial wipes to remove their makeup. I’ve never felt I was cheating using them. I think cheating would be not washing my face at all!!!!

So, this got me to thinking about doing a series on cleansing facial wipes. I’ll use a brand for 7 days and do a review on it. I’ll do a full review on the Simple facial wipes next week. But a sneak peek….I love ’em! Check in next week and see why.

Those coupons are in my purse and ready to be turned in at Target this weekend. Sweet! Oh, and that DARLING BAG!!!!!! Yes, I can go on and on.

Do you get the Target Beauty Bag?

I Spy….Target and Walgreens 10/28/11

Time is about up for the October giveaway. Click here if you want to get in on it. Chances are pretty good as there are not over 100 entries as of right now.

This really pains me. And, I am VERY vocal about this subject. I feel like a traitor to my own standards putting this up on my blob. However, I am going to put my feelings aside this one time. I want to be fair to my followers who might care.

So, I’ll be as brief as I can…

Pseudo-celebrities. Media whores. Pointless.

By now, you probably have seen the cute, round lip balms from EOS. If not check out my friend, Mary’s, Swatch and Learn blog. She reviewed one right here.

So, this is a new item by EOS, to me. EOS shaving cream…

I saw this at Walgreens and man, is that not a good deal?

Probably tomorrow, 10/30/11, Halloween stuff is going to be dirt cheap in order for the stores to clear it out. (Gain-way for Christmas items!!) So, be on the lookout if you want to stock up on Halloween decorations and candy.

You might buy this, but I bet you don’t save it…

I LOVE this! It’s hot chocolate that you mix right up in the cauldron/cup. However, I’m not too keen on the idea of orange hot chocolate. Maybe that’s just the color? If you check my klout influence, it would probably be beer in my cauldron!!!

I buy a lot of my clothes at Penneys. I stop in about once a month because I’d blow my entire ‘just for me’ budget for the month in about 2 hours.

These two young ladies, at the register, had just been given a lot of grief and rudeness by a woman over her ‘not yet valid’ discount coupon. I wanted to make them laugh right when I got up here. So, what can I talk about? Nails!

One of the young ladies was sporting this darling nail art. She told me that her mother is a nail tech. I, of course, encouraged her to talk her mom into starting her own blog.

Are you looking forward to purchasing Halloween items on clearance?

Target’s Beauty Bag Samples

It is so reassuring to discover that I am not the only person that loves to get mail. Following some of my favorite people, both on Twitter and on blogs, it is exciting to hear about that cool things they get in the mail.

Here’s what I got today and I’m still jumping up and down…

This cute bag is the Target Beauty Bag. I signed up for it over 2 months ago and this is my second one. Oh, and this point if very important to me; this is all free.

This bag was stuffed, literally, with samples…

Quite an assortment of well-known discount store beauty items.

Here’s what was in it…

At the top, that is a coupon book. I’ll come back to that in a moment. Next is a bottle of Daily Moisturizing Lotion from Aveeno, fragrance free (I use Aveeno face wash so I’m familiar with this brand). A Xela Pack© of Burt’s Bees, Radiance Daily Lotion with an SPF 15 (I have Burt’s Bees Cuticle Butter). Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes, Evening Soothe with chamomile and white tea. This got the Allure’s 2010 Best of Beauty Award (I am familiar with Ponds, but this will be my first time using their product).

How about 3 different brand samples of shampoo and conditioner? First is John Frieda’s Full Body Repair. The sample notes that it ‘weightlessly repairs to restore full style. For damage from frequent heat styling & coloring’ (I have used Frieda’s conditioner for humidity per recommendation from a friend). Next are samples of Garnier’ Fructis Fortifying formulas that are 92% biodegradable (I use many different Garnier products).

And shown after Garnier is, Tresemme’s Naturals Nourishing Moisture formulas. The shampoo is listed as having lower sulfates and the conditioner is silicone free (I have, also, used Tresemme products before).

Next to the Aveeno lotion is L’oreal’s Youth Code, Day/Night Cream. Youth Regenerating Skincare?…oh, sign me up! (I definitely have L’oreal stuff but have never tried this line).

So, let me get back to the coupon book that was included. Yes, I said book. Here’s why…

The front says ‘Save Over $20 Beautiful Bucks.’ There are 17 different coupons. Of course, there are coupons for the very items in this sample bag, and, as well as pages that give you more info on these items.

Then, there are coupons for other products that I actually do use: $1 off Cover Girl; $1 off Neutrogena cosmetics; $1 off Revlon products; $1 off Sally Hansen Nail Care items, and several more brands. All coupons are for $1 or more save for a couple of Pantene and Suave items, which are very inexpensive to begin with.

Compared to a monthly program for samples that might cost up to $10, I find my Target beauty bag gives me what I can readily purchase and get an opportunity to try products from brands I already know.

Oh, and the bag…doesn’t every girly-girl need cute makeup bags?

What do you think about Target’s Beauty Bag?

I took these photos with my new camera. Can you tell the difference?

A Day Just For Me: Bargain Hunting & Highlights

Ahhh….I’m not only caught up with my work, I’m ahead. So, what does this allot for me today? Uhmmm…shopping! For bargains, of course.

While at Target today, getting household necessities, I found this in the clearance rack…

This cuff bracelet was originally $14.99. From there it went to $10.45, then $7.48 and finally, I picked it up for $3.74.

It’s light-weight and I think I can wear it with many different looks. $3.74!! I score!!

This item is from a new Matrix line called ‘Total Results.’ I got this at Great Clips where I get my hair trimmed. (Did you know they have an app where you can schedule an appointment for yourself?) Kevin, the manager, does a great (get it?) job on trimming and styling my hair. Last week when I got a trim, I saw this…

‘Instacure’ is a leave-in conditioner. This is the first item I have found in the new ‘Total Results‘ line. I got mini trial sizes of 4 other products at the Orlando Premiere back in June. I fell in love with them and thus, have been jonesing to get my hands on full size bottles. The two I’m really looking forward to treating my locks to are ‘Silk Wonder‘ and ‘Miracle Treat 12.’

I am highlighting my hair today. Yes, by myself. I can’t believe I am. It’s only been this year that I have found the courage to try it. First, I had to re-blonde the roots. Here is the results of that…

And, hopefully, my highlights will look just as good and I’ll share that look next.

If you, by chance, notice my nails, I have a skittles and mani using Cult Nail’s ‘Hypnotize Me’. That will be tomorrow’s blog. Look for another ‘teaser’ on this company soon. 🙂

Does anyone remember when we used to call it ‘frosting’ your hair?

Cheap Ass or Frugal?

I, simply, like to think I got a steal when I find something (I want) on sale or clearance…

Case in point: Sonia Kashuk’s ‘Starry Night’.  (Yes, that name took 3 months on the Copywriter’s desk to be developed. 😕 )

Poor ‘Starry Night’. It got marked down 3 times before it got purchased. I don’t know why because, despite it’s name, it really isn’t a lame color.

‘Starry Night’ is a really, really, really inky purple with silvery-lavender micro-glitter.  Sorry, I don’t know who Sonia Kasnuk is. Surely, a famous designer or makeup artist spotlighted by Target. I purchased ‘Starry Night’ because of the price beautiful color.

There was tip wear after one day. I did a base with 3 coats of polish. I topped it off with Seche Clear.

Seriously, I do like the color a lot. I’m going to save this one and work with it again in 5 months. Why 5 months? Why, it will be Halloween!!!

In the meantime, here’s a photo of a magnolia flower from my backyard tree…
