Earlier this year, Unilever provided me with some of their new items they introduced. This is one that I was eager to try out: Degree’s Clinical Protection Stress Control antiperspirant/deodorant…
What’s different about the Clinical Protection line is that you put it on at night before you go to bed. Yep, that’s right! The Clinical Protection is Degree’s strongest deodorant/antiperspirant line. It has TWICE the strength of the regular Ultra Clear and Dry Protection line.
I was really honed in on the ‘Stress Control’ product. What sets this one apart from the rest is that it kicks in when you start to stress sweat. You know the kind where you are under a deadline, standing in front of a group giving a presentation or, sitting in traffic not knowing when it is going to start moving again and you are already late to work. That sort of stress you can have when you are not physically being exerted and the weather isn’t making you perspire.
Do take in consideration that since Clinical Protection is twice the protection than the regular antiperspirant, it costs more. Target sells this for $8. And another thing you will notice is that Clinical Protection is 1.7 oz., where the regular deodorant is typically 2.7 oz.
The delivery system is different on the Clinical Protection line as well…
Once you take the tab off the top, you twist the bottom of the container to push the product up out of the holes…
You can pick the amount of product you want to put on your pits. I found I could be a bit stingy and still get great results. Now, since moving from Florida to Colorado over a year ago, my antiperspirant needs have greatly changed. I think I sweat like a normal human being since moving to a less humid climate. However, ‘Stress Control’ has been awesome. Yep, I’m actually excited about an antiperspirant.
The reason you use this at bedtime is that you want the product placed when you are not active. This gives the product time to block the wet glands so you get the 24 hour protection. Now, I don’t know how this works on people who sweat through the night (I’m talking seriously sweating it out), or what happens if you forget to put it on and only remember after the morning shower, but…this product performs for me. It’s true that sometimes I forget to put it on at night. It just isn’t a habit. However, I will still use it in the morning should I forget and I’m still crazy OK with that.
Even though this antiperspirant has less product than the regular size, I’m fine with that because I can actually skip an entire day. The fragrance is very similar to other deodorants marketed yet, it isn’t heavy and doesn’t contrast with any perfume or fragrance lotion I may wear. I don’t have any deodorant stains or marks on any of my clothing. The only caveat I see is overcoming paying $8 for a deodorant. Even with a coupon, that takes off maybe $1.50, it’s still almost twice that of the other lines.
I do feel there is a difference but, I haven’t used it during the warmest time of the year. All said, I do recommend this deodorant/antiperspirant to those that feel they are stress sweaters and want to step up to something stronger than their regular brand.
Have you tried any of the Clinical Protection line or any of the equivalent? What do you think about it?
