Degree’s Clinical Protection: Stress Control Antiperspirant/Deodorant

Earlier this year, Unilever provided me with some of their new items they introduced. This is one that I was eager to try out: Degree’s Clinical Protection Stress Control antiperspirant/deodorant…

What’s different about the Clinical Protection line is that you put it on at night before you go to bed. Yep, that’s right! The Clinical Protection is Degree’s strongest deodorant/antiperspirant line. It has TWICE the strength of the regular Ultra Clear and Dry Protection line.

I was really honed in on the ‘Stress Control’ product. What sets this one apart from the rest is that it kicks in when you start to stress sweat. You know the kind where you are under a deadline, standing in front of a group giving a presentation or, sitting in traffic not knowing when it is going to start moving again and you are already late to work. That sort of stress you can have when you are not physically being exerted and the weather isn’t making you perspire.

Do take in consideration that since Clinical Protection is twice the protection than the regular antiperspirant, it costs more. Target sells this for $8. And another thing you will notice is that Clinical Protection is 1.7 oz., where the regular deodorant is typically 2.7 oz.

The delivery system is different on the Clinical Protection line as well…

Once you take the tab off the top, you twist the bottom of the container to push the product up out of the holes…

You can pick the amount of product you want to put on your pits. I found I could be a bit stingy and still get great results. Now, since moving from Florida to Colorado over a year ago, my antiperspirant needs have greatly changed. I think I sweat like a normal human being since moving to a less humid climate. However, ‘Stress Control’ has been awesome. Yep, I’m actually excited about an antiperspirant.

The reason you use this at bedtime is that you want the product placed when you are not active. This gives the product time to block the wet glands so you get the 24 hour protection. Now, I don’t know how this works on people who sweat through the night (I’m talking seriously sweating it out), or what happens if you forget to put it on and only remember after the morning shower, but…this product performs for me. It’s true that sometimes I forget to put it on at night. It just isn’t a habit. However, I will still use it in the morning should I forget and I’m still crazy OK with that.

Even though this antiperspirant has less product than the regular size, I’m fine with that because I can actually skip an entire day. The fragrance is very similar to other deodorants marketed yet, it isn’t heavy and doesn’t contrast with any perfume or fragrance lotion I may wear. I don’t have any deodorant stains or marks on any of my clothing. The only caveat I see is overcoming paying $8 for a deodorant. Even with a coupon, that takes off maybe $1.50, it’s still almost twice that of the other lines.

I do feel there is a difference but, I haven’t used it during the warmest time of the year. All said, I do recommend this deodorant/antiperspirant to those that feel they are stress sweaters and want to step up to something stronger than their regular brand.

Have you tried any of the Clinical Protection line or any of the equivalent? What do you think about it?

  • Cosmetic Sanctuary

I usually use Secret Clinical Protection, but I may give Degree a try and see if I like it better!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I am going to imagine they are all very similar. I had a former boyfriend that SWORE by Secret!

  • I’m not much of a stress sweater, but I do live in FL – and we sweat all the time down here. I’m used to applying my deodorant twice a day anyway!

    • Kimberly Purcell

Ahhhh, I do remember well, Love! I don’t miss sweaty boobs at ALL!!

  • FabZilla_Kath

If my memory serves me right, I know I’ve tried this brand last year.

    • Kimberly Purcell

The brand has been out but the ‘Stress Control’ is a new lead-in.

  • I’ve always been curious about these types of deodorants. I’m not a huge sweater but it can get extremely hot in Australia in summer and that’s when I take 3 showers a day.

    • Kimberly Purcell

      Three showers a day!? Oye!!!

  • Amber

Hmmmm, the stress sweat point has me curious! I might just pick it up! 🙂

    • Kimberly Purcell

I can honestly say I never felt sweaty while using this.

  • Norah Salazar

While living in Singapore, I very bad sweating so much had to switch to Tom’s because of the chemicals. Eventually, I developed dermatitis so did Botox to control the over perspiration. I might give this a try.

    • Kimberly Purcell

I have heard about the use of Botox for perspiring.

  • Hmm this is very interesting!

    • Kimberly Purcell

It is, indeed. I rather like it!

  • This sounds awesome. I may just have to pick this up, I too sweat when stressed and if this will help. I need it. lol…

    • Kimberly Purcell

I can vouch that it works for me!

  • Anastasia

I haven’t tried this antiperspirant but I’m glad it seems to work for you! I can’t use antiperspirants with aluminum in them for health reasons.

    • Kimberly Purcell

I know it can be very hard to find antiperspirants without aluminum chlorohydrate in it. I never found one that was successful for me.

  • Sadly, I need strong stuff like this here in FL.

    • Kimberly Purcell

I hear ya, Baby! I wish I would have had this while living there. I used Degree and lots of powder!

  • This sounds great – Will definitely give it a go!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I think you will like it.

  • Noelle

This sounds like something I’d totally use!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I was happy to give it a try and wasn’t disappointed at all.

  • I always need help with stress control at any level

    • Kimberly Purcell

Super sweaty pits isn’t something I notice when I get stressed. But, when it’s hot outside and I can’t seem to cool off when I get indoors, this antiperspirant is a blessing!

  • I sure could have used this last week!

    • Kimberly Purcell

You might have to put this one on your shopping list.

  • Sounds good!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I wasn’t disappointed in how it performed one bit.

  • I am a sweaty Betty lol. I need powerful deodorant lol.

    • Kimberly Purcell

This is a product you might want to consider.

  • Ange

I haven’t tried this one out yet, but I need it for summer!

  • Angela Sherman

I use this and I love it!

    • Kimberly Purcell

      Ah, that’s great to hear!!!

  • I am fascinated by the concept behind this product. I stopped wearing deodorant when I was pregnant and hopefully am not offending people left and right!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I’m paranoid about having funk. I have a family member that is totally oblivious to her odor. I don’t feel I always have to smell good; I am fine with not having an odor at all. 🙂

  • Kelly R

    I love this deoderant!

    • Kimberly Purcell

      It’s the bomb, isn’t it?

  • I have heard about applying before bed before, but more as a tip than as directions on the package!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I have too. I shower in the morning so it’s odd for me to put it on before bed. But hey, if it works!

  • I hate humid climates, bet you’re glad to get out of florida!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I miss the shopping and my good friends. That’s about all.

  • Justina

I should definitely look into this. I wore Dove for years and eventually it stopped working for me. I use Secret now but I’m always looking for the next best thing!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I rotate deodorants too. It seems that one will not work so great anymore and I will get good results when I pick up a different brand. Right now I actually rotate three at the same time. They are in a drawer together and I just grab one each day and use that one.

  • I just moved to a humid climate. I should give this a go : )

    • Kimberly Purcell

      Bless your (sweaty) heart!!!

  • cindyprimebeauty

I will totally pay more for something that really works!

    • Kimberly Purcell

I was in a quandary about this. I so would have done that whilst living in Florida. Now I wonder if it just might be overkill in Colorado. But, it’s working AND that’s worth it.

  • I use clinical strength since my daughter was born. Hormones change and make things crazy!

    • Kimberly Purcell

Yes, on the hormone change bit. Yep!

  • I always use something clinical out of paranoia…especially since I moved into humidity!

    • Kimberly Purcell

And even after 4 years of living in Florida, my body did NOT adjust to the heat. I think that’s a very individual thing. I understand the paranoia, though. But even as I got older, I just found sweaty body parts uncomfortable. I won’t even tell you how I managed to be a running in Florida. Ugh!!!!

  • Betzy Carmona

I’m always looking for extra protrection

    • Kimberly Purcell

You may just find it with Degree’s Clinical Protection.

  • Stress Control? yea I need to try this lol.

    • Kimberly Purcell

Right? Can I dunk my whole body in it? LOL

  • kSquaredGlamour

i need to try this one out for sure!
