Pure Ice Nail Polishes

(These polishes were provided to me for my honest review.)

Sometimes, when you just need a little pick-me-up, a simple pleasure in purchasing an inexpensive nail polish can do just the trick. Plus, it’s calorie free.

I have several Pure Ice polishes that were sent to me to try out. They are all pretty and, the selection was a wide range of colors and types.

After Hours is a warm pink shade. It’s a great shade for Summer. I have applied 3 coats, as I did with all swatches here…

Next is Viva Las Vegas. Again, three coats of this rockin’ bronze polish…

Sea Glass is my favorite of the ones I got to sample. This is a very sweet, fun and not in your face shade. Even though it’s green, this polish goes with just about everything because it is demure…

This is Ballet Slippers and, if you are looking for a wedding polish or, one for a very young miss, I highly recommend this shade…

I wanted to work on accenting Wide Awake with a coat of black polish underneath. I love the multi-dimensional look it made…

Pure Ice is found, exclusively, at WalMart. The line has a multitude of shades from cremes, to metallics and fun glitters. They cost only $1.99 and that, my friends, is cheaper than a therapy session.

Which of these 6 is your favorite?

Pure Ice: Gold Peppermint with Cult Nails: Let’s Get Dirty

After a February holiday full of pink and red polishes then, a March holiday overflowing with green polishes, I wanted to pick something totally different.

One of my most recent Pure Ice polish purchases was ‘Gold Peppermints’…

Pure Ice Cult Nails bottles

I thought these two would make a good pair…

Pure Ice Cult Nails labels

I used two coats of Cult Nails  ‘Let’s Get Dirty’ and then two coats of ‘Gold Peppermints’…

I have had this manicure on for over 4 days and it’s still looking great. I wanted something with a bit of gold in it for motivation. I ran a 5K Sunday and it had lots of downward slopes going out, which means, upward slopes coming back. I think I told myself to ‘dig deep’ a billion times.

I enjoy creating combos likes this. Do you find it enjoyable too?

My Winter Pajama Flannels Inspired My Manicure!

I know I can’t be the only one this has happened to. I picked a polish color, along with a glitter top coat and, it matched my jammies!!! Please tell me this has happened to you…

This is what I came up with using Cult Nails’ ‘Kiss My Rose Bud’ with Pure Ice’s ‘Santa Merry Me’.

DSCF0001

‘Santa Merry Me’ is one of Pure Ice’s newest Winter glitters and it’s pretty! ‘Kiss My Rose Bud’ is a matte pink that set the perfect background for this pairing…

So, when I cozied up in my flannel jammie pants (and, a fuzzy top, of course) and did my nails…

DSCF0007

I guess I was subliminally inspired to create this pink Wintertime manicure…

I have done a manicure, more than once, only to discover that it matches something I’m already wearing and I wasn’t even trying to do a match. Please tell me that you’ve done this too so I don’t feel totally weirded out!

Pure Ice: The ‘Free Spirit’ Is Willing; The Manicure Is A Fail

Only one day away til the first day of Spring! I have always love celebrating that day because….it’s my birthday!!!

Here is a manicure I played around with for St. Patrick’s Day. I found that so many of my green polishes didn’t want to be opaque. So, I took white polish to try underneath with this one…

DSCF0045

This isn’t a nice-looking manicure at all. Here’s what I used…

DSCF0042

I started out with love and beauty’s ‘White’…

DSCF0044

Then I topped it off with Pure Ice’s ‘Free Spirit’…

DSCF0043

Each, in the bottle are so pretty and gave me hope. Can you see a bit of shimmer in ‘White’?…

DSCF0041

I left my pinky with just ‘White’ on it to see if the shimmer would show. After two coats, it really wasn’t going to happen. And then, literally, slapped on ‘Free Spirit’ because I could see I wasn’t going to get the effect I was looking for. And, I put on three coats…

DSCF0047 DSCF0046

“Free Spirit’ has sparkly teal glitter but it became dull and uninteresting on my nails. This St. Patrick’s Day manicure wanna-be only lasted one day. It was a fail.

And, a bit of a confession, I did my right hand with just ‘Free Spirit’ and that’s why I went with a white polish underneath on my swatch hand. I couldn’t make either of them mind!!

I’m glad to move on from green manicures for now. How about you? Ready for other Springtime pretties?

Pure Ice Polish: Taxi in Velour Texture

Pure Ice nail polishes has, recently, released a gob of new shades and textures. I couldn’t pass up the fun. One of the textures is called ‘velour’…

This pretty purple is called ‘Taxi’. I just know there is a story behind that name, I just don’t know what it is. I do know that I think it is pretty…

At the curve of the bottle, can you see the golden shimmer? That’s what makes this purple polish pop. In some light, the color looks all gold.

This is three coats. I did use Lumos Top Coat and I still have this polish on after a week. I have the slightest bit of tip wear. I know I could get more mileage out of this mani too. I just am ready to try something else. And, when I saw all these new Pure Ice polishes, I got a bunch!

Did I mention that they are only $1.99 at Walmart? I have some polishes that cost 5 times that amount and don’t perform as top-notch as Pure Ice does. I got lots so look forward to more swatches.

Pure Ice: Halloween Crackle Looks Get You Into The ‘Spirit’

I’m all about getting the best deal for my money. And Pure Ice polishes deliver. Their color range is huge. Even their crackle polishes come in 11 colors. And, at $1.99 each, you can get several.

Here are some that will get your nails in the Halloween spirit…

For the nail wheels, I started off with Cult Nails’ ‘Nevermore’: my go-to one-coat black polish. The next swatch is the yellow ‘Catwalk’ crackle over the black. And then, the Shattered’ green over black creme. The far right is Pure Ice’s black crackle, named ‘Strobe Light’ over L’Oreal’s ‘The Temptress’ Touch’.

And then I just went Pure Ice Crackle Happy…

‘Catwalk’ over black on my thumb and middle finger. ‘Shattered’ over black cream on my index and ring finger. On my pinky, ‘Nevermore’ by itself.

Wait…I still have more to show you…

Random polishes with Pure Ice over them. Check out the middle finger: that’s an orange glitter with ‘Shattered’ over it. The pinky is an orange and yellow glitter with ‘Strobe Light’ over it.

So, you can see that it would not be hard to come up with some spooky, crackle nails for Halloween. And, just one bottle of crackle from Pure Ice, you can make lots of combos with polishes you already own.

Pure Ice is found at Walmart stores.

The Pure Ice crackles were sent to me for my review and my honest opinion. Cult Nails sent me ‘Nevermore’ for promotional use as well.
