Revlon’s Bubblegum Days Urban Nights Might Be Hidden In Plain Sight; Know Where To Look

During the Holiday season, you have to keep in mind the rule of ‘Look Up!‘ That’s what I did yesterday at Walgreens and found the new display for Revlon’s Bubblegum Days Urban Nights collection…New Revlons 001 New Revlons 005That’s ‘Girly’ and ‘Heavenly’. I picked them right off the top shelf, thankyouverymuch. Seems silly to find full, new displays staged for placement on the floor when there are several displays that don’t have a lot of product left. Merchandising law says that’s a No No! And there’s your inside secret to finding new products.

I will have swatches coming, I promise. These are just too cute to tuck back into the Vanity Vault!

Milani Monday: Face Of The Day

This Milani Monday is a FOTD look. I used all Miani cosmetics to create it. Let’s start with the two eye shadows that I based this look around. These are from the Runway Eyes collection, which is a core collection…

‘Silver Charm’ is a soft color; not overly metallic-looking at all. ‘Royalty’ is a purply-violet that has lots of shimmer to it. ‘Royalty’ looks pink in the photos, but it is a lot more purple, which will show better in the swatches…

It might look like the sparkles are over-spray. However, I swirled into the pan and it stayed shimmery through.

I swatched both wet and dry. The larger swatch is dry while the narrow swatch is done wet…

‘Royalty’ is showing truer in the swatches.

To create my look, I used Milani for everything but the translucent facial powder. These are the Milani products I used…

From the top: my very favorite mascara, Total Lash Cover in Black; the lipstick is ‘Pink Love’; on top of the lipstick I used Haute Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Lipgloss in ‘Quick Flash’; I used two different eyeliners, both from the Shadow Eyez 12 Hour Wear Eyeshadow collection, ‘Green Safari’ and ‘Brown Deluxe’; and as the liner under my eyes, I used Color Play Felt-tip Liquid Pen in ‘White Line’.

This is how I got them all together…

Without a doubt, Milani’s products are very pigmented. I did the shadows wet and I couldn’t be happier with the intensity and blendability. The lipstick and gloss complimented each other very well.

In self-portraits, why is the nose made to look so huge!?? I wish it would make my lips look bigger. LOL

Do you have any of these Milani products?

Lustre Shine Collection by Sally Hansen

The new Sally Hansen Lustre Shin polishes were ones I knew I’d have to have. These are excellent examples of duochrome and multichrome polishes.  I saw them on PR releases, even though the pictures were actually computer renditions, I, still, sort of knew they’d be special.

I think I’m right…

I kept it to 4 out of the 6 in the collection. The first swatch, the glitter teal, is NOT part of this collection (sorry!). The orange is Lava, then Scarab, Plume and Moonstone.

As a beauty blogger, my stash of nail polishes grows by leaps and bounds. And I have a considerable amount of unswatched polishes. Even though it can be tough, I’m working on only purchasing those that are not duplicates of something I already own.

And then, I think the price of $8.50 is steep for any Sally Hansen polish. I did have $1 off coupons and that helps. However, I think these shades are awesome; don’t get me wrong. My expectations are that drugstore polishes shouldn’t be more than $7.00.

Regardless, I spent the money and, am happy to have these to add to my hoards collection.

It’s not unusual for the first coat of nail polishes to be thin. And these were, definitely, no exception. I’ve learned not to cause myself alarm thinking I’ve wasted my money on crappy polishes. The swatches, below, are all 3 coats and no top coat.

This is ‘Lava’, a blazingly brilliant orange with a flash of copper…

‘Plume’ is my favorite of the group. I do have several polishes that are so similar to this. Yet, I can’t resist the bronze and green flashes that remind me of a dragonfly’s eye…

Here is ‘Scarab’. I think ‘Plume’ should be named ‘Scarab’ and, vice versa…

And, my second favorite, ‘Moonstone’ that is anything but just a white polish…

I used to have a Toyota Celica this color!

Any way you turn these polishes, there is complexity to the shades as the light plays on them. The shades do work with transitioning into Fall and, the jewel-tones that this season is known for.

Do you have a favorite one? Or, could you not decide and get them all?

Happy Fourth Of July Manicures

Libby and I hope you are having a fun and safe holiday. My good friend, Eugenia, from Geniabeme Beauty Blog, asked for Fourth of July manicures to share on her blog. I told her that I wasn’t planning on doing one, however, since she asked and many of my other Central Florida Beauty Bloggers were joining in on the fun, I didn’t want to be left out.

I did both hands…

‘Silver Star’  from Kleancolor is the polish I wanted to highlight…

I used a bunch of polishes for this July 4th manicure…

Thank, Eugenia, for getting me into the fun! Click here if you’d like to see a bunch more Fourth of July manicures, hosted by Eugenia.
